RADb: New features and fee structure coming soon

For over 13 years Merit Network, Inc. has provided RADb -- a world-class Internet network routing information registry service -- to thousands of organizational and individual network operators worldwide.

RADb supports the operation of the Internet by providing access to network routing policies and route announcements submitted and maintained by RADb customers. Currently, RADb receives about 2,000,000 queries per day from over 2,000 unique hosts.

First sponsored by the NSF (National Science Foundation) at its inception in 1994 as a research project, RADb became a production, fee-based subscription service in 1999. For the past six years the annual fee has remained unchanged at USD250.

Merit is committed to maintaining RADb's longstanding high-quality service to the international community and will be adding powerful new features in the months to come to help you and your organization better manage and monitor your network routing information. Please watch the www.radb.net web site for updates as we implement new enhanced features.

As part of Merit's mission to meet the needs of non-profit and for-profit organizations, we are now announcing a tiered fee structure to take effect October 20, 2008.

RADb's annual fees will now be USD395 for non-profit organizations and USD495 for all others.

RADb will continue to provide the following industry-leading features:
  • Immediate routing policy registration with real-time registry updates
  • Access via web interface or scripts
  • Object/route consistency checking
  • Public "whois" queries
  • Data Mirroring of more than 30 other IRR databases
  • TCP tool support (e.g. IRRToolSet)
  • Online account, payment and renewal management, with a variety of convenient payment options, including credit card and e-check
  • The reliability of more than 13 years of continuous service and experience
  • 24 x 7 technical support and advice from experienced engineers
  • World-wide expertise developed in support of over 3000 customers in more than 63 different countries
